9:00am-Feeding frenzy! We had 3 humpback whales all chowing on anchovies just 1.5 miles off Newport Beach today. We got to witness two occasions of lunge feeding behavior, as well as one whale that played with some seaweed. Hundreds of common dolphins, too.
3:00m- The frenzy broke up but we still found 1 humpback whale to watch and about 400 common dolphin. We also got to see a SWORDFISH, which is a very rare sight on a whale watching trip. This giant fish was at least 200 lbs.
