Today we ran at 9:00am and 3:00pm. Our morning whale watching saw us traveling down the coast looking for gray whales. Finally we found a cow/calf pair, almost at Dana point! They were very close to shore playing around, spyhopping and rolling. We also had a very special sighting of a sea otter in the kelp forest in Laguna Beach. Only Captain Ryan’s 3rd time seeing one, ever! On the 3:00pm trip we found our next whales a little closer to home, right at Crystal Cove. Again, a cow/calf pair of gray whales that showed great for us. Next we went a few miles offshore where we found plenty of dolphin! There was also a fin whale lurking in the area but we did not get good looks at it.
