Yikes! Lots of wind today. We delayed our 9:00am departure for an hour in hopes that it would subside, but it kept getting stronger. We went out anyway, knowing it could be a short trip. Thankfully our friends at Daveys Locker let us know of a Gray Whale cow/calf near the harbor, and we were able to watch them for about 30 minutes. We started to get wet so we turned the boat for home. Then, near the Balboa Pier we saw a pod of about a dozen bottlenose dolphin. This ended up being the highlight of our trip with some really close looks at these beautiful animals. We still ended up cutting the trip short, and with the poor weather refunded our passengers 1/2 trip price.
