Dustin on the Newport Legacy called us to report <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>a humpback whale<\/strong><\/span> about 4 miles from our harbor. It was one of the same humpbacks we saw yesterday! Captain Ryan found it right where it was described, and both of our Zodiacs got some great looks at this gentle giant. It even surprised us and jumped about 100 feet away from the boat! Amazing, check out the picture taken by our 14 year old passenger with an iPhone! We finished up our trip with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>200 common dolphin and 1 hammerhead shark.\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5531\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ultimatewhaleadventure.com\/triplog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/newport-beach-whale-watching.jpg\" alt=\"newport-beach-whale-watching\" width=\"404\" height=\"404\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ultimatewhaleadventure.com\/triplog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/newport-beach-whale-watching.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.ultimatewhaleadventure.com\/triplog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/newport-beach-whale-watching-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.ultimatewhaleadventure.com\/triplog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/newport-beach-whale-watching-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 404px) 100vw, 404px\" \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>11:30am- On our second trip of the day, we saw another <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">humpback whale,<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>a different animal from the first trip but about the same size: 30 feet long. On one occasion we watched the whale swim directly under our boat! On this trip there were also<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> hundreds of common dolphin<\/strong> <\/span>scattered every which way. And we saw <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>another hammerhead<\/strong>!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>9:00am- Off to a good start this morning when Capt.
