Just a 9:00am trip today. We started off looking for Gray Whales towards Laguna but we couldn’t find any; their season is just about over. We did see a nice pod of bottlenose dolphin very close to shore near Crescent Bay, that was a good start! The humpback have been showing well recently in the deeper water and we ventured offshore from there. At first we found plenty of common dolphins, always fun. Then we got a radio call from our friend Capt. Dustin on the Ocean Explorer- he found three humpbacks feeding off the Balboa Pier! We raced over there and got to watch these whales for the rest of our trip. Some good teamwork out there today!
